Trump: An American Dream

72 Films Channel 4 22.11.17

Full post-production on four-part documentary series that charts Donald Trump's extraordinary life from the 1970s through to the present day.

Colourist, Dan Gill graded the archive based documentary series using Digital Vision’s Nucoda to create distinct atmospheres, depicting each decade of President Donald Trump’s life from the 1970’s to present day. Nucoda restoration tools were applied to help some of the more dated archive footage. During episode two, Gill wanted to be sympathetic to the archive from the 1980s to truly reflect the style, opulence and colour of Las Vegas and Atlantic City throughout the explosive growth of gambling.

Dubbing Mixer, Nicky Fry, mixed the stereo audio using ProTools 12 on an Avid S6 console. RX 6 was used to clean up material and de-noise archive throughout the series.

Online editor, Tom Lucas, completed the online for the series using Avid Symphony. Leaving the archive in its native resolution and often keeping the Film leader as a stylistic effect.

Post produced by Richard Folley and Chris Chalmers.
