Edinburgh TV Festival 2019

Back by popular demand we're returning to the EICC with our sofas and smiles. Come and relax, recharge and talk post production (if you really must), members of our talented team will be on hand throughout the festival, offering a friendly face, a shoulder to cry on and if you ask really nicely, a hand demystifying the latest platform delivery specs.

We’re proud to be teaming up with The Film and TV Charity this year to help spread the message about the importance of wellbeing for all those working in the TV industry at this year’s Edinburgh TV Festival.

The charity helps with life behind the scenes of the film and TV industry in the UK, with a Support Line that's open 24/7 on 0800 054 00 00.

Alex Pumfrey, CEO of the charity said, "The Farm have shown so much enthusiasm and support for our work exploring the experiences of people in this industry and we’re really glad to be working with them to bring the charity’s message to Edinburgh.

Despite the perceived ‘glitz and glamour’, we hear many stories of the stress and strain borne by those working behind the scenes.

Last year we rapidly launched our Support Line and this service has already responded to over 2,000 calls, offering financial and emotional help to people when they need it most. On the back of this, we commissioned our groundbreaking study to understand the true picture of mental health in our industry and almost 9,000 people took part in the first part of this, an online survey.

We now want to work hand in hand with industry to catalyse real change and are convening the Industry Taskforce on Mental Health to guide, champion and challenge this work – and the programme of activity that will follow.”

Charlotte Layton, Group Commercial Director at The Farm said, “Looking after our Farmers’ welfare, and that of all of the programme makers who walk through our doors every day, is of the upmost importance to us. We’re thrilled to be supporting The Film and TV Charity to spread the message that it’s important to show consideration for everyone’s wellbeing, not always an easy task we both appreciate.”
