Overall Job Purpose

Working closely with Edit Assistants and Supervisors to ensure the continued efficient operation of the fluid and fast paced post production process.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out routine operations such as ingesting, syncing & grouping, mic replacements,  updating logs and general media management
  • High proficiency in Avid Media Composer is essential
  • Conform experience and VFX workflow knowledge would be desirable
  • Generally assisting colleagues with any possible issues that may arise,  troubleshooting technical problems where necessary
  • When required, to do all manner of file conversions using various encoding software such as Adobe Media Encoder, DaVinci Resolve and Content Agent
  • With support from other Edit Assistants and Supervisors, understand how to prepare edit suites, kit and media for creatives as well as to troubleshoot kit & suite issues

Working as part of a great team, providing front line technical edit and system support in a busy Sport Broadcaster Post Production environment. The role is an experienced technical role and will require quick learning of local workflows, good time management and an ability to think on your feet.

You will work closely with the Networking & Security Lead and Infrastructure Lead, focusing on core aspects of both internal and client facing IT systems and IT Support functions.  Lead and manage the IT in looking after all aspects of The Farms large on-prem tech estate, as well as its growing cloud presence.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Oversee change/transformation projects and support the Technical Director in managing business outcomes
  • Deliver the corporate and content security agency, with support from the Network & Security Lead
  • Manage supplier relationships and oversee procurement of IT Software and Hardware
  • Be a source of inspiration and innovation in the tech space and influence the overall tech strategy
  • Point of contact and escalation for all technical queries, advice (both internal and external)
  • Identify areas of improvement to ensure the business is utilising its full capabilities

Overall Job Purpose  

Dedicated to supporting the day-to-day operational aspects for all FES projects relating to service products.  

Location: Slough (SL1 4LR) and Lexington St (W1F 0LF) 

This role would suit a Senior Dailies Operator who wants to further develop into a Support role, adding the more technical / engineering aspects of Dailies work. It is primarily focused around supporting both hardware/engineering requirements & workflow/dailies support. The successful applicant will assist all FES team members with tasks for a variety of concurrent projects. The operator will have a working understanding of the on-set dailies process, including knowledge of the latest camera file formats, ability to configure and support hardware/ software/networking across Windows/Unix systems and ideally, has a deep understanding of post-production pipelines. The FES team interact with DI, VFX and Data IO, effectively being the hub for a lot of projects. Understanding the colour journey from many cameras is essential. Flexibility is required on being able to operate multiple platforms and pick up knowledge where needed.  

Offsite travel will be required, working away from home on occasion and working across multi-site will be required. The ability to travel within the UK and internationally is vital to this role. 

Main tasks and responsibilities  

  • Working with the Technical Support Manager, assist with technical set ups, project maintenance, testing and ad hoc projects. 
  • Keep updated on new technologies, industry/market trends, making recommendations to improve workflows and advance Technicolor’s competitive position. 
  • Perform technical fixes on hardware and software.
  • Implement /manage technical infrastructure and oversees installations and upgrades. 
  • Assist with and conduct technical training for technical and non-technical personnel. 
  • Create and implement checklists to monitor compliance with procedures.

To work within the team of post-production technical operators, working on a variety of genres.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Technical Manager, bookings, post-production producers and coordinators to ensure work is correctly undertaken.
  • To provide technical support and first tier trouble-shooting when needed.
  • Undertake work covered in all areas of the facility in a technical role when required e.g. Ingesting, conforms, media back up, playout and mastering, file delivery etc.
  • Ensure correct standards are followed from ingest, to edit and to final delivery to broadcasters.
  • Ensure all new technology developments are implemented correctly, and to keep abreast of new standards and workflows.
  • Fully aware of the use of technology within the facility and to report any faults to engineering.
  • Client-facing and provide tech support and advice for production when necessary.
  • Responsible for the media management and data backups of the facility. Including supplying verified rushes backups (for example: LTO tapes) for external clients.
