Overall Job Purpose  

Dedicated to supporting the day-to-day operational aspects for all FES projects relating to service products.  

Location: Pinewood Studios/Slough (SL1 4LR) and Lexington Street, Soho, London, United Kingdom. 

This role would suit a Senior Dailies Operator who wants to further develop into a Support role, adding the more technical / engineering aspects of Dailies work. It is primarily focused around supporting both hardware/engineering requirements & workflow/dailies support. The successful applicant will assist all FES team members with tasks for a variety of concurrent projects. The operator will have a working understanding of the on-set dailies process, including knowledge of the latest camera file formats, ability to configure and support hardware/ software/networking across Windows/Unix systems and ideally, has a deep understanding of post-production pipelines. The FES team interact with DI, VFX and Data IO, effectively being the hub for a lot of projects. Understanding the colour journey from many cameras is essential. Flexibility is required on being able to operate multiple platforms and pick up knowledge where needed.  

Offsite travel will be required, working away from home on occasion and working across multi-site will be required. The ability to travel within the UK and internationally is vital to this role. 

Main tasks and responsibilities  

  • Working with the Technical Support Manager, assist with technical set ups, project maintenance, testing and ad hoc projects. 
  • Keep updated on new technologies, industry/market trends, making recommendations and to improve workflows. 
  • Perform technical fixes on hardware and software.
  • Implement /manage technical infrastructure and oversees installations and upgrades. 
  • Assist with and conduct technical training for technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as liaison between Picture Head’s production staff and the client, including but not limited to studio marketing executives, creative agencies, and various post-production facilities.
  • Responsible for contributing to a seamless, timely and accurate finishing process as well as ensuring an overall positive client experience.
  • Responsible for coordinating elements of each project while facilitating a clear line of communication with clients, vendors and Picture Head’s production staff to support the teams with all aspects of the finishing process up to the final delivery.

From the World Cup to the Olympic Games via the FA Cup and Wimbledon, the Farm works with the BBC in covering some of the world's biggest sporting events.
