Our VFX Producers report into the Executive Producer and work closely with the VFX Supervisors to produce the awarded shows. They work directly with clients and build strong relationships with the creative teams. Overall Job purpose

The VFX Editor incorporates and updates all required versions of visual effects shots into the current cuts of the VFX / live action sequences. The VFX Editor also has the ability to create a functioning environment where the Visual Effects Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences, for aesthetic and technical direction. This position works closely with producers to manage all incoming media and outgoing deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sync with outside editorial and the production team; Receive incoming sequences from editorial and spot for changes and alert production teams of new shots / omits / changes to existing shots
  • Manage and document the turnover of shots from editorial through to delivery including ingesting new media into pipeline
  • Ensure Shotgun is maintained with current shot counts, lineup and any retime instructions
  • Ensure that published shots conform to the current edit and perform basic QC checks
  • Support for delivery of visual effects shots, including but not limited to: creating QTs, digital file wrangling for Shotgun, RV and final DPX /EXR deliveries
  • Prepare sequence edits for internal and client approvals when required
  • Create daily playlists and operate the screening room system for dailies
  • Perform shot specific colour corrections to match editorial reference when required

The role of Dailies Operator, Front End Services is dedicated to supporting the dailies creation process within the FES department. Primarily focused around metadata management, media wrangling, QC and colour pipeline, the operator will assist all FES team members with tasks for a variety of concurrent project. The operator will have a working understanding of the on-set and dailies processes, including knowledge of the latest camera file formats. Understanding the colour journey from many cameras is essential. Flexibility is required on being able to operate multiple platforms and pick up knowledge where needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monitoring and completion of all technical aspects of projects. Perform the technical set ups for new projects. Working with the Technical Support Manager, assist with and contribute to technical discussions internally, with clients and with Editorial/VFX teams. Assist in the completion of technical specifications to meet all production requirements i.e. recognizing software/hardware and rendering constraints, digital acquisition variables, new cameras.  Check projects are technically correct within both OSD and Daylight systems and conduct testing to meet deliverable requirements.
  • Assist in the training of other members of the FES team.
  • Perform technical fixes on hardware and software for assigned area. Under instruction of Technical and Departmental manager organize suppliers, support service providers and research / provide leasing options as required. Oversee and carry out support for installations locally and on location when necessary, investigating any issues that may arise.  Liaise with 3rd party suppliers and manufacturers regarding upgrades and updates and liaise engineering to manage the smooth installation of hardware / software.
  • Identify and log new and existing hardware and software resources. Working with the Technical Support Manager, maintain an inventory of hardware and software licensees where applicable. Ensure all hardware matches operational requirements. Make recommendations to management for hardware and software changes. Assist with and support the supplier/vendor relationship directly or via other facilities as required.
  • Maintain relationships both internally and externally, communicating with other facilities learning the best practices and working with the Technical and Departmental manager to maintain and implement best practices within the UK.

This role would suit a Senior Dailies Operator who wants to further develop into a Support role, adding the more technical / engineering aspects of Dailies work. It is primarily focused around supporting both hardware/engineering requirements & workflow/dailies support. Offsite travel will be required, working away from home on occasion and working across multi-site will be required. The ability to travel within the UK and internationally is vital to this role.

Main tasks & responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Technical Manager, bookings, post-production producers and coordinators to ensure work is correctly undertaken.
  • To provide technical support and first tier trouble-shooting when needed.
  • Undertake work covered in all areas of the facility in a technical role when required e.g. Ingesting, conforms, media back up, playout and mastering, file delivery etc.

The Media Management & VFX Pulls Operator will work closely with the Pulse Team, Production

Broadcast and DFE The role is dedicated to supporting the day to day technical aspects for all Pulse projects, both broadcast and features. Primarily focused around metadata management, media wrangling, colour pipeline and deliverables encoding. The conform operator will work with Pulse team members on tasks for a variety of concurrent projects. The conform operator will have a working understanding of the on-set dailies process, including knowledge of the latest camera file formats and ideally. Knowledge around the role of a DIT and VFX pulls would be a plus.
The Pulse team interact with on-set, DI, VFX and IO, effectively being the hub for a lot of projects. Understanding the colour journey from many cameras is essential. Flexibility is required on being able to operate multiple platforms and pick up knowledge where needed.
Pulse work can be carried out remotely, but there may be instances which will require being present in the office or on location.

The ideal candidate would be:

We are looking for a Lead Motion Graphic Designer to join our Picture Head team in London. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the department’s local graphics needs in Finishing and Localisation of title and reader graphics for promotional A/V material (Trailers, TV Spots, etc.), and will also be an integral part of the global Picture Head group as well. Job responsibilities:

• Takes the project lead on facilitating and delivering Finishing and Localisation efforts across editorial, sound, graphics, and colour on assigned campaigns and titles
• Works collaboratively across local Streamland Media and global Picture Head facilities through project completion
• Active involvement by scheduling pre-pro meetings at the onset of any given project to ensure all internal parties are in sync regarding expectations, schedules, workflows, milestones, etc.

Overseeing and preparing monthly UK payroll in line with set timeframes, preparing pension reporting and P11D forms, advising on IR35 and liaising with the wider HR team on tasks that impact Payroll.

Payroll Preparation
• Responsible for UK payroll processing and administration, with support from HR team, acting as business expert in all matters related to payroll and pension

As a member of the sound team in Farm North Media City, you will work closely with production teams and other craft members to deliver BBC Sport audio and communications for programme output across BBC network television channels, BBC news, iPlayer, Red Button and web streaming.
This role will be based in BBC Quay House, Media City, Salford.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Prior to a production, you will liaise with resource managers, production teams and operations colleagues to identify and agree the most appropriate sound requirements and solutions. At all stages of a production you will be required to show leadership and responsibility for the output of your team.
When necessary you will be required to attend planning meetings to establish the sound requirements for a production, contribute to crewing levels, equipment requirements and advising on call times and necessary preparation time ahead of a transmission date.

The role of the Studio & Post Co-ordinator can either be full time permanent role or part time job share option, (flexibility on part time option)

From the World Cup to the Olympic Games via the FA Cup and Wimbledon, the Farm works with the BBC in covering some of the world's biggest sporting events. We require someone to be part of the team which makes that happen. You'll be an integral member of our Salford operation and will work with the team to deliver first class post-production and studio operations for BBC Sport.
