Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Work closely with Production to ensure the smooth running of Operations, confirming and maintaining staff rotas.
  • Allocate required resources and coordinate logistics of multiple projects, liaising with Operations departments in other Farm locations where necessary (i.e. on Drama productions)
  • Draw up workflows for Operations, liaising with the client where necessary and carrying out plans and tests of the workflow where possible.
  • Support Ops and Producers to ensure the smooth running of workflows
  • Work with Edit Support to ensure any guides are up to date (i.e. troubleshooting) and provide additional cover to edit support by picking up support requests where necessary
  • Work with Creative and Production departments, advising on bookings and supporting its scheduling
  • Media management: create workspaces for all projects going onto the Nexis, creating weekly workspace snapshots to identify completed projects. Oversee the Operations team archive and delete all media in accordance with Farm policy.

Other Duties

  • Cover for absent staff in the team within the remit of the job accountabilities.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects and administrative tasks that are relevant to the operation of the department

Attend relevant training identified to ensure duties are performed efficiently

Responsible for:

  • Management of Operations in Farm Manchester throughout the whole of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to termination of employment

Provide motivation, leadership, development and direction to Operations Team

Education & Training

  • 5 + A to C level GCSE’s or equivalent
  • GSCE level minimum B grade or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Trained on MS Office applications

Desirable

  • An undergraduate level qualification in a relevant area

 

Skills, Ability & Experience

  • Proven track record in a management role, preferably in an Operations environment
  • Solid experience in Post-Production workflows, from initial crafting to media management
  • Confident allocation resources and co-ordinating logistics across multiple projects
  • Comfortable with different forms of Media Management
  • Solid office administration experience
  • Excellent and accurate attention to detail data input and checking
  • Ability to communicate well with internal departments

Desirable

  • Experience in a management role in a Post Production environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of UHD workflows

To Post Produce projects of variable size and scope to a variety of Broadcasters and platforms. 

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Ensure production projects assigned to you run smoothly, working closely with Operations and support teams throughout.
  • Define client requirements, planning and resourcing a project accordingly among internal creative teams, escalating where appropriate
  • Owning project work at every stage of production, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to an extremely high standard
  • Manage the budgeting and scheduling of all projects assigned to you, ensuring all data is entered accurately and schedules are up to date and maintained
  • Working closely with Sales, agree payment schedules and terms with clients ensuring that bills are signed off in according with the agreed terms
  • With support from Accounts, ensure billing for all assigned projects is accurate and on time
  • Support fellow Producers across The Farm in the planning and execution of projects

Creative Support

  • Maintain regular communication and engagement with the creative teams, spending time with them to understand their roles and importance of each project
  • Work with the Management Team to support up-and-coming talent, ensuring succession plans are in place for key creatives
  • Introduce existing and new talent to clients with the view to selling them on existing/new projects

  • Evidence of good Excel and Outlook knowledge and experience
  • Accurate keyboard skills
  • Able to organise own workload

  • Experience of working with ScheduAll software a plus
