We are always looking to expand our database of talented compositors and VFX artists to work on our wide range of interesting projects at Farm FX in both Manchester and London.

Farm FX are looking for talented and experienced CG generalists to join their expanding team in Manchester.

We have a number of permanent, contract and freelance roles available. As part of the Farm Group you will help create award winning TV shows, documentaries, dramas and commercials.


  • Create high-quality work on time and to specification. 
  • Ability to take direction positively, work well within a team and thrive under the pressure of tight deadlines.
  • To produce a high standard of great looking imagery across a range of styles; from photo real CG composited against live action through to stylized fully CG work. 
  • Take a shot from concept through to delivery
  • To be proactive when executing shots and assisting the team.



  • Proven and demonstrable experience in high-end CG.
  • Strong skill set in modelling (Hard surface and organic), texturing, animating, lighting, rendering (Arnold/Vray/Redshift) and compositing.
  • Thorough knowledge of Maya/Nuke as well as a solid understanding of most CG techniques and technologies.
  • Rigging experience a plus
  • Must be self-motivated, a team player and organised
  • Excellent attention to detail and good communication skills with both clients and colleagues. 
  • AE experience a plus

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant for a one-year maternity cover; with a substantial focus on Sales/Accounts Receivable.

Main tasks and responsibilities


  • Liaise with post producers across all sites on sales and issuing all sales invoices and credit notes to clients.
  • Reviewing aged debtors and chasing clients for payments where necessary. Ensure that spreadsheets and records are updated regularly and accurately.
  • Ensure Sales invoices are matched to receipts in SAP.
  • Send trade references and perform supplier/client background checks, adding all information to appropriate folder to be approved by Financial Controller.
  • Set up new suppliers in SAP, with support from Accounts Payable.
  • Petty cash for London, Manchester and Bristol.
  • Prepare and reconcile runners’ floats on a daily basis
  • Training new runners in floats and road runner and being runners’ main point of contact.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Reviewing all expenses submitted for the Farm are accurate; have attached receipts and are in line with financial guidelines.
  • Create and provide reports on accounts for Farm for month end for the Financial Controller.
  • Collate and update month end spreadsheets where required with support from Financial Controller.
  • The post holder will be flexible if required to provide cover in other parts of the finance team.



·        5 GCSE’s at Grade C or above (or equivalent qualification) including English and Maths. Candidates without these qualifications would need at least two years relevant experience.

  • Have experience and sound basic skills in the use of computers, particularly MS Office suite (excel use is critical).
  • A methodical approach to work and attention to detail and accuracy when inputting data.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative with the minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels.
  • Ability to prioritise and arrange own work load.



  • Experience of working in a busy, office environment, preferably with experience using SAP.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • A flexible approach to work within the post and the ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Experience of dealing with clients effectively over the telephone


From the World Cup to the Olympic Games via the FA Cup and Wimbledon, the Farm works with the BBC in covering some of the world's biggest sporting events. We require someone to be part of the team that makes this happen. You'll be an integral member of our Salford operation and will work with the team to deliver first class studio operations for BBC Sport. The role of technical operator encompasses a number of live television gallery disciplines. Working closely with colleagues in small teams the technical operator will gain experience in producing output on BBC1, BBC2, BBC News Channel and BBC World.


Day to day duties will be:

  • Framing shots on studio cameras / robotic cameras.
  • Assisting with studio lighting setup / changes as per production requests.
  • Line up circuits and identifying sources.
  • Communicating with remote sites.
  • Monitoring quality of incoming & outgoing material.
  • Co-ordinating guests of the programme.
  • Managing performing areas to HSE standards.
  • Working closely with directors and technical resource managers to maintain quality of output.
  • Assist with basic vision mixing and sound mixing operations as required.
  • Adopt Farm Values, maintain and build client and staff relationships.









Experience with the below systems is preferable but not essential as training will be provided:  

  • ECT Congo lighting desk or similar
  • Sony RCP & MSUs, camera line up and racking techniques.
  • Riedel communications kit
  • Open Media newsroom production system
