The VFX Editor incorporates and updates all required versions of visual effects shots into the current cuts of the VFX / live action sequences. The VFX Editor also has the ability to create a functioning environment where the Visual Effects Supervisor can evaluate any version of any shot in the current sequences, for aesthetic and technical direction. This position works closely with producers to manage all incoming media and outgoing deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain sync with outside editorial and the production team; Receive incoming sequences from editorial and spot for changes and alert production teams of new shots / omits / changes to existing shots
  • Manage and document the turnover of shots from editorial through to delivery including ingesting new media into pipeline
  • Ensure Shotgun is maintained with current shot counts, lineup and any retime instructions
  • Ensure that published shots conform to the current edit and perform basic QC checks
  • Support for delivery of visual effects shots, including but not limited to: creating QTs, digital file wrangling for Shotgun, RV and final DPX /EXR deliveries
  • Prepare sequence edits for internal and client approvals when required
  • Create daily playlists and operate the screening room system for dailies
  • Perform shot specific colour corrections to match editorial reference when required
  • Perform shot retimes to match supplied editorial reference when required
  • Work in partnership with VFX teams and compositors to ensure shots are delivered to the very highest standard while maintaining schedules.
  • Update sequences with any changes to the cut and communicate changes to the VFX team.
  • Cut in VFX works in progress and finals into master cut sequences, confirm timing, line-ups, and that the work matches what was requested in shot turnover sheets.

Key duties will include maintaining integrity of the network, server, storage and workstation deployment in a primarily Linux/Unix environment, whilst keeping a conscious eye on security. This role would suit a Senior Dailies Operator who wants to further develop into a Support role, adding the more technical / engineering aspects of Dailies work. It is primarily focused around supporting both hardware/engineering requirements & workflow/dailies support. As Assistant Post Producer you will be working closely with Production and Operations as the Hub manages all incoming media from start to finish. This is an incredible opportunity for a Dubbing Mixer in London to become part of one of the largest and busiest audio departments in the UK. You will need to be able to liaise with directors about the correct approach to a mix, be able to interpret delivery specification and help manage the delivery of your shows. You will also need to be able to work within the Farms Audio department. This will involve sharing mixes across the department and working to a common standard.
You will need to be comfortable recording Voice Overs and be familiar with ADR recording.
Able to use Source Connect, Zoom, SessionLinkPro and Zoom for remote Voice Recording.

Technical skills
• The role will be supporting an Adobe Premiere edit workflow, so experience in this (and other Adobe Creative Cloud software) is essential.
• Avid experience will also be an advantage.

• Detailed knowledge of offline, online and grading workflows.
