Overall Job Purpose

Working closely with Edit Assistants and Supervisors to ensure the continued efficient operation of the fluid and fast paced post production process. Supporting the finishing departments and creatives with a focus on conforming.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Liaise with technical supervisors, bookings & post-production producers and to ensure work is correctly undertaken
  • Setting up, supporting and trouble-shooting edit suites & logger systems
  • Undertake routine operations such conform, prep for grade / VFX
  • Communicate clearly and efficiency with team members, post producers and other staff members though email, handovers, rushes logs and other administrative means
  • Keeping abreast of new standards and workflows, including relevant operational technology implemented within the department
  • Being fully aware of the use of technology within the facility and to report any faults to engineering
  • Client-facing and provide tech support and advice for production when necessary
  • To work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships and service levels with Farm clients

Other Duties

  • Partake in training & support for junior members of the team
  • Be a senior point-of-contact for your area of working (ie. specific building/MCR)
  • Attend relevant training identified to ensure duties are performed efficiently
  • Undertake ad-hoc tasks delegated by Technical and Resource Supervisors

 

Please note: The base shift hours for this job will include nights and weekends.

Overall Job Purpose

We are looking for permanent Edit Assistants to work closely with our current Edit Assistants and Supervisors within our London office to ensure the continued efficient operation of the fluid and fast paced post production process

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Liaise with technical supervisors, bookings & post-production producers and to ensure work is correctly undertaken
Setting up, supporting and trouble-shooting edit suites & logger systems
Undertake routine operations such as ingesting, syncing & grouping, mic replacements, file exports, LTO restores and general media management
Communicate clearly and efficiency with team members, post producers and other staff members though email, handovers, rushes logs and other administrative means
Keeping abreast of new standards and workflows, including relevant operational technology implemented within the department
Being fully aware of the use of technology within the facility and to report any faults to engineering
Client-facing and provide tech support and advice for production when necessary
To work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships and service levels with Farm clients

Essential Skills, Ability & Experience:
A minimum of two years Post-Production experience in the industry with a demonstrable track record of success
Extensive Avid Media Composer knowledge
Experience of having worked in edit support
Good understanding of video formats, files, frame rates and resolutions and familiarity with working with different video codecs
Good IT skills, PC and Mac literate
Excellent and accurate attention to detail data input and checking
Ability to communicate well with internal departments
Able to organise own workload
Knowledge of other non-linear editing platforms would be ideal

Desirable Skills, Ability & Experience:
Basic knowledge of Resolve and colour pipelines
Experience with Nucoda or Flame
Knowledge of ScheduAll software
A good practical knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and database management systems
Conform experience

Hours: 40 hour week, which includes 8-week rotation, consisting of early, mid, late, night and weekend. Nights and weekends are 1 in every 8 weeks.
